HELLO, messing with someone's computer is a FEDERAL crime... Highly doubtful that they would risk the MILLIONS of dollars invested in their company...

The conspiracy theorists have been touting this since the first viruses hit computers many years ago. However, as with any conspiracy theory, so many people would have to know the secret and keep it to themselves that it is safe to say that this is a completely unfounded urban legend.

While there have been documented cases of viruses accidentally getting out of a test laboratory, possibly at an anti-virus company, no employee of an antivirus company has ever come forward with a documented case of deliberate release of a virus or generation of a virus by an antivirus company to boost software sales.
