Why does my anti virus say 2 files were scaned when i only chose 1 file to scan?

When ever I download a picture from my email i scan it for viruses. there never was any virus detected in a picture but it sais that 2 files were scaned. i figured that the other file in the picture might run in the background when i open the picture like a trojan or something so i never open these files that say they are 2 files when i scan them. most pics i scan say "scaned 1 file" i dunno y it sais 2 for some. i just wanna know if those are viruses or trojans. thx.

I use Kaspersky internet security. i tried other antivirus programs and they didnt detect any viruses either but also say 2 files were scaned for the same files.

It could possibly be a bug/fault with Kaspersky.

If you want to be pretty sure that the files are not malicious, then upload them to Virustotal, this will scan the file(s) using multiple antivirus engines and give you the results at the end.

You don't need to install anything. Just upload it to the website below.
