McAfee, panda, norton are the best anitviruses programs but i think shud be kept in mind that virus definitions must be up to date.

Avoid like the plague McAfee, Norton and similar. they're a piece of junk.

Any anti-virus that is paid and legally obtained and updated regularly will work nice. Free software function only partial. Dangerous Trozan horses are not removed by most of the free soft-wares. Above all, I feel, McAfee stands best.
