The first step is to completely remove Norton from your system. Go to Add/Remove programs and get rid of everything with the words Norton or Symantec in front of it. It is crap that bogs down your machine.
Then go to the web and free the free version of AVG. Go to: free.grisoft.com. Install it and update it then run a scan and it should clean you up.

keep the norton. did you submitt the file to norton?? spysweeper has a free scan, it also does viruses too. Try it. I recommend it.
