After using avg anti virus, windows xp keeps restarting and prompting for a password? help????adware

Well if it is that bad then you may have to do a full recovery, This can be done by holding the F-11 key down during a sartup, But know that you will lose everything on your pc and it will be set to factory setting just like the the day you bought it,

In the future it is wise to leave a file in the avg virus vault for a couple weeks the be sure that the file is not essential to you OS and after you know that its not affecting your pc then you can delete it,;

I wish you luck;

Edit;

Do you have the recovery disc that came with your computer? If you do you can put it in and try formatting it that way,

Here is another thought too, Try asking this same question in the hardware section because they are some pretty sharp people in there, I wish I could help you more but im at a loss that you can not even recover it to factory settings,, Hmmmm Maybe your C disc is getting bad? Just a thought,

Download ERD commander 2005 from thepiratebay.org

Burn the .iso file onto a cd

Boot up from the cd and change your password using the locksmith utility

Theres other utilities too like crash analyzer and file restore

Hope I helped

(You need bittorrent to download it)
