With the level of organized crime syndicates now operating on the internet there is already too much malware for most security vendors to deal with to want to add more.
Most vendors are struggling to deal with the quantity as the Prevx1 database highlights. Prevx Central Db is detecting 50,000 new programs per day of which 7.000 programs are automatically determined as malware. No vendor with their honey pots and manual analysis of this quantity is able to continue to cope with this level of infections the last thing they would want to do is add even more to their lists.
Crime syndicates across the internet are focused on generating revenue out of malware and it is certainly the fastest growing crime globally. This accounts for the dramatic increase in malware in the last few years.
One example taken from the top of the Prevx1 list highlights this with already 37 variants of this malware:

Why would any vendor want to turn out this level of malware and find their own products continuously fail to detect the new variant?
