I use the free version of AVG. Sometimes, it automatically starts scanning, while I have not ordered it to do so. Why it happens?
Further, one it detects a virs, there is a message which contains the following points in addition to ohers:
1. Heal 2. Move to Vault 3.Enable Access
I want to know if I press the 'heal', whether it will clean the virus from that file?
What is the meaning of Move to Vault? If I click this button, whether it will remove the virus from that file?
And finally, what is meant by Enable access?
Thank you
I want to know about AVG - Anti virus software?windows
HI there
AVG automatically starts scanning at certain points in time because this is the default setting of AVG. If you do not want this, change the default settings.
If AVG detects a virus and offers you the Heal possibility, the programme will clean the virus from the file. Normally the programme will confirm whether the virus has been removed or not.
It is also possible that AVG is unable to remove the virus. In this case it is interesting to move the file to the vault, which means the file can no longer be opened and the virus is quarantained. The vault is also useful if you do not want to remove or heal infected files instantly.
If you choose the enable access option, you do not heal the file and do not send it to the vault either. This means you can still access the file, but the virus will not be removed or quarantained. This option can be useful if you really need to open the file, but it is better not to use this option unless you know that the virus is not very harmful.
