Where can i find good anti-virus program and window system repair software?

I need your help to recommend something from shareware or freeware or something that doesn't cost me anything. I am poor student learning about pc and my country is third world. Worker gets $50 U.S. per month and from that we have to eat and pay rent. So spending $1 for lunch is much too expensive. I can pay only 20 cents each day.

I am always afraid that my pc will get virus and i can not use it for my lessons.
