Norton Internet security anti virus icon reads disabled every time I turn PC on.?

I enable it and it will disable again after awhile.Auto scan comes on every time I start up PC and it can not be reset for a different time. virus scan says no bugs.Is it a defect? I am new with PC so please keep simple as possible Please help if you can..Thanks to all who do.Also thanks to the ones who just make me laugh. Went to Symantec they will not help for free. u probably need to uninstall it then reinstall it! I had the same problem a while back and had to do that! But after I uninstalled everything about it then put it back on there ... I haven't had a problem... maybe try that!
