Please excuse me if I mention that anybody who buys that software at any time is making a big mistake. What a piece of crap.
besides personal software preferences, most software of this type is good for 365 days from when you register it with the website for updates. It does not matter which "year"/version the software is, or when you purchase it.

A brand-new installation of version 2003 would still last 365 days, even though it is three years old. It would just be an older version, but will still have the basic functions and updates of the new version.
you will sorry you did ,cause you will have renew it on date of dec.2006 for the next year ahead.
Youll waste just as much money as you would have if you had bought it on Jan 1 2006. Antivirus programs are largely ineffective. Common sense and precaution are the best tools.
