Everyone has a different opinion, you decide. Have a look at http://www.av-comparatives.org
norton is very user friendly, but i would target the virus and go after it myself or format mycomp
Mcafee hands down, it cleaned out my comp, runs awsome
kaspersky , it has something like a 98% removal rate.

the best free anti virus is Avira.
I use Trend Micro Internet security............... Very good

well norton i think sucks big time karpesky i think is pretty ok but you have to pay for it
Hi, as new viruses appear virtually every day, it's just a matter of geting a good one and keeping it up to dat with a good firewall. AVG FREE VER is as good as any thing. Always keep these sort of programs up to date but eventually it is inevitable you will get a virus, But with a good blocker they are usually stopped. You yourself can take action not to get infected by NOT opening email's that you are not sure where they came from. Mark them as trash etc once they are in the trash bin delete them. DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO OPEN THEM. as this is where a lot of viruses come from.

Hope this help's

I've been using AVG free edition for many years and have not had a successful virus attack in all that time. AVG stops them every time so it gets my vote.
i use symantec (the people who make norton) antivirus corporate edition, way better than norton antivirus (the one that's targeted towards home users).

Go get the corporate edition, its tops.

Probably cheaper too, as it's unlimited updates (for the retail version you have to pay once a year)
I've always used Norton, up until this year when it started causing problems in my system. So I'm not sure if I should try McCaffee. But I reckon those are 2 of the best.
