How do I update Avast anti-virus Home Edition?

I go on clicking on the 'iAVS - Update Virus Database' button forever and still nothing happens. I have checked my firewall settings and all, and there is simply nothing out there to block it. Please help!!

why do u need to update it? just check your settings and make sure that you ahve the splash screen anabled and that it is set to update automatically, (splash screen will let u know)

then let it do it job, if not then uninstall and reinstall, also did u register it? make sure yo have only ONE computer registered in your name, if multible computers use other names, it knows!

Updates are usually set to automatic unless you change the settings. Try right-click on the avast icon and select 'Program Settings' then click on 'Update (Basic)' and update from there.
