Is Trend Micro Anti-virus a memory hog?

I have been using it since past 4-5 months, but nowadays I feel that my computer speed is getting slower, although I haven't installed any other software, lately. The update files are sometimes in MB (5 to 10 MB). Do you think after constant heavy updating of virus definitions %26 the size of this program is increasing %26 affecting the performance of my desktop.

Thanks for your opinion, in advance.

Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html
