Spy sweeper stops anything being installed onto your comp, so it blocks all the viruses too. I'd run it for 3 years on it's own before I finally bought AVG...guess what: nothing there for the AVG to find! Only $19.95 a year too.

I Recommend Symantec Antivirus

It will do rootkit virus detection and clean
I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following link. http://www.computeractive.co.uk/ On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps.
i use avast (www.avast.com) for free at home and we have a paid version in the office at work.. seems to work great, never have probs, has integrated e-mail scanner, internet scanner etc..
from my personal experience with all the antivirus programs, i can surely recommend McAfee Internet security, download the latest version, and u must keep up to date, I'd say check for the updates every 3 days
hi mcaffe is the best but here is a way to get it " internet/security 2005 ver7.0 "never used a cd key try down loading :)
When it comes to pay per year, I have tested Norton, McAfee, and Trends Micro. I have found that Trends Micro tends to be better at catching new viruses and catches trojans, keyloggers, and backdoor programs more than the others. You can always do an online scan for free at their web site.
