What is a good anti-virus software that guarantees its product?

I have McAfee now. I run a scan at least once a week, and it continually updates. I obviously have something on my computer. I have the unwanted pop up ads that freeze it up and make it unresponsive. McAfee tech support had me run a DOS scan, it found nothing. Now they tell me I can pay extra for a virus scan/removal service. Sooo ... I am trying to find a more reliable company that stands behind its product and it works without me having to pay extra.
