Which is the best free Anti-Virus?

Okay, right now I am using AVG Free Edition but I have heard good things about Anti-Vir and I am contemplating a switch to it.

Yeah, I know about Avast! also but even just renewing it yearly for free is too much of a hassle.

So, who is better Anti-Vir or AVG?

I've used AVG Free for the last few years and have never had a problem except I got a virus once because I forgot to update AVG but when I ran AVG after an update it found and cleaned it.

Actually Avg is good by grisoft imho.

Antivir is great as well.

Actually norton virus is free for 6 months via the google package if anyone is interested.

AVG Free or Avast, though I have been AVG for years now, it's on our office network. Norton blows, have to pay for update yearly, is a resource hog, and lets some things slip by.
norton isnt free but it is the best in the world hands down.
There is really no best free one. Unless you are in a financial bind get Mc Affe.
